Over the past several months, rumors have circulated throughout the SuperCentex.com Member Community about the possibility of the UIL predetermining the locations of high school football state title games.

UIL officials announced Tuesday that will happen starting in the 2010 season.

On December 10th, December 17th and December 18th the class 3A, 4A and 5A state championships will be held in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. And the UIL said they plan to rotate the state championship games for these three classifications between Cowboys Stadium, Reliant Stadium in Houston, and The Alamodome in San Antonio. In the future, there is the strong possibility of UT's Royal-Memorial Stadium being added to the rotation as well.

Not to leave the lower classifications out of the predetermined mix, the UIL also announced prearranged locations for class 1A and 2A state title games. Those championships will be decided in Mansfield at Newsome Stadium and in Abilene for the 2010 season.

Last season, the UIL wanted the 5A football state title games to be played at Cowboys Stadium, but due to a scheduling conflict the games were moved to the Alamodome.

Although UIL officials have stated the new predetermined sites will benefit fans in knowing the locations of the state championship games beforehand, some members of the SuperCentex.com Member Community have voiced their concerns about the new method. Those members feel that it would be hard for teams and fans in West and South Texas to travel the long distance to see the games.

One fact that remains difficult to argue is the grandeur of Cowboys Stadium. The experience of playing in the magnificent venue will undoubtedly be one to remember for those qualifying teams, fans and communities.
