Mart
Panthers
Head
Coach: Rusty Nail
2009
Record: 9-5 DII Regional Finalist to
Cayuga
Key
Players:
QB Holden Strunk
RB Anthony Martin
LB D'Shun Kinsey
OL Gabe Waples
RB Jakeem Hoffman
DB Leonard Williams
LB Terrell Pride
ATH Ethan Deike
The number
one enemy for the Panthers will be the
injury bug. In 2009 the Panthers had
4-5 starters out in almost every regular
season game, most notably QB Holden
Strunk. Even with the injuries the
Panthers proved that even with backups
at key positions they could do what it
takes to keep in close games with big
opponents. 2010 will be an explosive
season for the Panthers with high
expectations mainly because they are who
they are....the Mart Panthers. |

Kerens
Bobcats
Head Coach:
Russell Anderson
2009
Record: 6-4 DII Bi-District Finalist
Key
Players:
LB Trey McGowan
WR Ryan Leerskov
OL Cody Roberts
DL DJ Woods
Returning
2009 district MVP Trey McGowan is the
leader of this Bobcat team that returns
10 starters on defense. Kerens will
prove a tough test for the Panthers in
the battle for the district championship
and are no strangers to success falling
shorter than expected in 2009 in the
Bi-District round. |

Riesel
Indians
Head Coach:
Ronnie Wilson (Supercentex Coach of the
year)
2009
Record: 8-4 DI Regional Finalist
Key
Players:
LB Justin Watson
LB Ty Marshall
OL Casey Stripling
TE Alan Hieft
CB Dylan Smith
The hardest
thing the Indians will have to face this
year is their 2009 counterpart. An
excellent season last year will
hopefully propel the Indians to
continued success but they will have to
find replacements for key losses because
of graduation. The upper classmen are
ready to step up and take over the
leadership role the Indians will need to
break into the playoffs once again in
2010. |

 |
Cayuga
Wildcats
Head Coach:
Greg Jenkins
2009
Record: 14-1 DII State Champions
Key
Players:
WR Chris Turner
DL Brandon Miller
OL Kawika Tu'akalua
OL Coleman Shafer
The
defending DII State Champs will have a
rebuilding year to replace two D1
graduating Seniors (Shead & Kennedy).
It will be impossible to replace the
record breaking Shead but the Wildcats
will depend on a seasoned O-Line to lead
the way. Cayuga's signal caller is
still a position to be won and Jenkins
may try several key skill guys before
and during the season to see who will
fit. |
|
 |
Rice
Bulldogs
Head Coach:
David Curry
2009
Record: 1-9
Key
Players:
RB Levi Plunkett
DB Shaquille Fields
LB Ragan Henderson
The
Bulldogs are still a bottom of the
barrel team especially in this
district. They will have minimize the
mistakes and capitalize on their
opponent's just to have a fighting
chance. |

|
Malakoff
Cross Roads Bobcats
Head Coach:
Stephen Almuete
2009
Record: 1-9
Key
Players:
WR Kolton McGlaun
LB Taylor Rogers
RB Brandon Peyrefitte
OL Hunter Norwood
Crossroads
will fight Rice for the last place in
this district. Two evenly matched teams
will have the same philosophy. |
