Cameron Yoe
Head Coach:
Rick Rhoades
2009
Record: 6-4/3-3 in 3A
Players to
watch:
DE: DeAntana Holt
LB: Ty Morgan
QB: Jack Rhoades
Holt and
Morgan should help make the Yoe a very
good Defensive team. Offense will be
inexperienced, but with WR Derrick
Westbrook and QB Jack Rhoades has
potential. Ranked them first in district
coming from tough 3A district and
schedule to 2A. They are also the
biggest school in this district. |

McGregor
Bulldogs
Head Coach:
Tim Seward
2009
Record: Went undefeated in regular and
district play at 10-0 lost in DII
quarter finals to Callisburg 13-1 for
year.
Players to
watch:
WR: Chad Seale
DB: Kieran Wilson
Top
Juniors:
QB: Keith Reineke
Top
Sophomore:
DT:Dylan Brown
Only
returning 4 starters on both sides of
the ball, but coach Seward played a lot
of underclassmen late to get experience.
Key losses were Shawn Chappel and Julian
young. Coach Seward has a ton of talent
in the underclassmen ranks though. Keith
Reineke took over for Dylan Ripley after
game 3 in 2009. As sophomore he gained
tons of experience and got better with
every snap.
Look
for McGregor to battle Cameron and Troy
for the top spot with the Bulldogs
headed to another long playoff run in
2010. There game with Troy in week
seven could be key to district race |

Troy
Trojans
Head Coach:
Grady Rowe
2009
Record: Lost to Godley in bi-district
round, went 8-3 for the year, second
place in district
Players to
watch:
DE/TE: Demetrius Smith
OL/DT: Isaiah Ross
RB:
Marcus Ege
Going to be
a very young team with 2 offense and 4
defense returning players from last
years team. Smith is expected to be the
corner piece on both sides of the ball
for the Trojans, if injuries are held to
a minimum they can battle for top spot
in district, but look for the
inexperience at some positions. A key
loss was Andrew Taylor. |

Marlin
Bulldogs
Head Coach:
Keith Willis
2009
Record: 1-9
Returning
Starters: 8/6
Players to
watch:
LB/RB Des Willis
OL Xaiver Logan
QB Fred Fondon
Marlin is
the dark horse of this district. 14
experienced starters and a new attitude
could see these Dogs in the third spot
in district but will be tough behind the
Yoe, Trojans and the other Bulldogs.
Second year head coach Willis is making
head way. An unpolished 2009 team was
very young with a lot of talent lost
over 2009 summer. Marlin looks to be
headed in the right direction with coach
Willis. We have been very impressed with
what we have seen out of the Bulldogs in
2009 despite the 1-9 record. That record
is a bit misleading due to some very
close games. They missed the playoffs by
losing the last game of the 2009
season. If the rebuilding process is
moving along faster than expected,
expect this team to be the one that
makes waves. It would be very possible
for them to knock off at team they
aren't expected to and say hello to post
season play. |

Hearne
Eagles
Head Coach:
Ralph E. Lymas
2009
Record: 5-5 /2-3
Players to
watch:
RB
Kenneth Jones
LB Sexton Curry (100 tackles 2009)
Move into a
tough district, however they also have
some good experienced players coming
back with returners 8/9 on either side
of the ball. Running back Kenneth Jones
will lead the way (2009 1,225 yards, 15
tds) behind a solid offensive line. Look
for Hearne to be a tough win for any
team, but in the end there will probably
be too much talent from top tier teams.
But again, the Eagles are capable of an
upset in 2010. |

 |
Academy
Bumblebees
Head Coach:
Mike Nichols
2009
Record: 6-4/3-3
Key loss:
Kyle Kuban
Players to
watch:
WR: Brent Fritz
RB:
Cameron Dutcher
Look for
them to battle Florence for the final
spot in district as the other top teams
are just too loaded, and stocked for of
talent for the Bees to make the
playoffs. |

Florence
Buffaloes
Head Coach:
Paul Smith
2009
Record: 2-8 1-5
Returning
Starters: 6/7
Players to
watch:
QB Doak Hensley
DB Michael Ramirez
Hensley
threw for 1604 yards in 2009, his debut
season. He is looking to build on that
and see if he can get the offense moving
enough to score on the heavy weights of
this district. |
