Like Axtell, Italy is experiencing a jump from 1A, but will remain competitive with the presence of Senior-playmaker, Jasenio Anderson who can do-it-all. And he has an all-district receiver to throw to this season in Heath Clemons, who had 35 receptions for 592 yards and 7 touchdowns last season.

Head Coach: Mike Cadell

2009 Record: 3-7/1-5 district

Key Players: WR Jay Helleck, FB Brandon Bordovsky, OLB J. Pat Martin, RB Jacob Kubitza, CB Keith Lindsay, QB Josh Reynolds, OL/DE Chris Krolczyk, CB Mykel King, OL Jeremy Riser, OL Kris Brooks, OL Brady Skinner.

Summary: Axtell has an experience team but faces a big jump from Class 1A. How experienced is this ballteam, well, they return 8 starters on both offense and defense. Axtell will use FB Bordovsky to open holes for RB Kubitza. Senior WR Jay Helleck, at 6-6 190, had more than 400 yards receivng and 8 touchdowns last year. Quarterback Josh Reynolds started 8 games last season. Sophomore Justin Stranacher could also get some time at QB. Fullback Brandon Bordovsky had around 600 yards rushing last season and will also start at outside linebacker. Outside linebacker J.Pat Martin had 82 tackles last season and is the backup fullback.

Coach Cadell says " Bordovsky is an "explosive player. RB Kubitza could have a breakout season. Big WR Helleck also has a chance to emerge. OLB Martin and OL/DE Krolczyk lead the defense." The Longhorns have quite a large senior class this year and are looking to make a trip back to the playoffs, this time in 2A.

Summary: Leon's strength will be the offensive line, led by McCune. But, it is unclear who will start at the skill positions. Candidates include QB Watson, as well as RB Hayes, FB Rivera, SE Bumpurs and SE Hernandez. There is no question the defensive leader is LB Winstead, an all-district pick last year. LB Tadlock and S Hayes also recieved al-district regognition. As a 62-40 loss to the Garrison Bulldogs in the Bi-District Playoffs ended Leon's season last year. Watson will direct the Cougars run orriented offensive attack after earning second team all-district honors as a sophomore. Head Coach: Kyle Hardee

2009 Record: 2-8/1-4 district

Key Players: RB Jonathan Cloud, RB Seth Mahaffey, DE Jamal High, LB Colten Harris, RB T.J. Robinson

Summary: Returning only 3 starters offensively and 4 starters defensively, the Tigers will be a young team with the majority of depth provided by the junior, sopomore, and freshmen classes, especially the sophomore and freshmen classes. Coach Hardee says " we have to replace some key positions." Centerville will build the offense around RB Cloud, who passed 1,100 rushing yards last fall. Running Back T.J. Robinson brings quickness to the backfield and the 5-6 , 125 pound running back runs a 4.5 40 yard dash. Linebacker Colton Harris started at offensive guard and defensive end last season but he should cause even more havoc this year from his new defensive position.
