Crockett Bulldogs

Coach: Paul Parsons

2009: 1-9

 Key Players:
OL Antonio Chimney
S Jon Wolf
QB C.J. Wheeler
RB Trevon Dickinson
CB Kwame James

With 16 starters returning and plenty of athletes to go around, the Bulldogs appear to be the early favorite in 11-2A DI. Although only 1-9 a year ago, six of the losses were to playoff teams and their lone win was against another (Athens). Combine that with dropping down from 3A, Crockett appears ready to take control.

Malakoff Tigers

Coach: Jaime Driskell

2009: 8-3 (DI Bi-District Finalist : Lost Winnsboro 43-27)

Key Players:
RB/S Josh Crockett
OL/DL Zack Green
LB Truman Dowell
QB Jacob Teague

The Tigers had the biggest turnaround in 2A last season going from zero to eight wins. Coach Driskell looks to keep the momentum going with a solid group back that includes eight starters. The district title will more than likely be on the line when they travel to Crockett in Week 10.

Trinity Tigers

Coach: Chuck Langston

2009: 2-8

Key Players:
RB Jay Johnson
QB Cole Smith
LB Reid Felchak

Trinity appears poised to claim a playoff spot. The Tigers have a district high eight starters back on both offense and defense. A playoff spot looms with a trip to Teague in Week 10.

Teague Lions

Coach: Josh Finney

2009: 1-9

Key Players:
RB Larry Busby
QB Jake McClain
ATH Trae Bell
Casey Samuels
Jurante Carter

Coach Finney brings new enthusiasm and a winning pedigree with him and looks to get the Lions back to where they were a few years ago. He has possibly one of the most dangerous weapons in 11-2A DI in Larry Busby. Also, QB Jake McClain is a definite preseason all-state candidate. Look for Teague to be in the hunt for a playoff spot come November.

Troup Tigers

Coach: Chuck Griffin

2009: 2-8

Key Players:
RB Ryan Nichols
LB Caleb Gibson
DB Cameron Searcy

Elkhart Elks

Coach: John L. Adair

2009: 1-9

Key Players:
C Austin Huggins
RB/K Bryce Fillmore
