Dawson Bulldogs
Head Coach: Scott Hawkins
2009 Record: 8-2/5-0 District
(Bi-District loss to Mart)
Key Players: RB Alex Shaw, QB Trey
Tennison, TE/LB Nick Renfro, RB Michael
Vaughn, OL/DL Kirk Williams, K/CB Steven
Travis, DL Kyle Golden
Summary: Dawson, which returns 14
players on both sides of the ball is
"loaded". With a team that made the
playoffs last year and gained experience
the sky's the limit for the bulldogs.
Few teams have slowed RB Shaw, who last
year scored 22 TD's for Dawson and is a
back-to-back 1,500-yard rusher.
All-state TE/LB Renfro and QB Tennison
are also big-time threats. The defense
is led by OL/DL Williams who had 105
tackles last season, as well as CB
Vaughn, who made 4 interceptions last
season. Williams, who also plays
defensive tackle, is the leading
returning tackler with 105 stops last
season. QB Tennison is a two-year
starter. Renfro was a an all-state
selection last season after he had 25
receptions for 565 yards and 6
touchdowns last season. He was also an
all-district linebacker.

Bremond Tigers
Head Coach: Bruce Brignac
2009 Record: 3-7/2-3 District
Key Players: QB/DB Jonathan White, WR/DE
Jeffrey Drymalla, RB/DB Ryan Rekeita,
DB/WR Jacob White, DL Zach Hall, OL/DL
Jackson Yezak, LB Justin Kinney
Summary: QB/DB White, who had 9 passing
TD's last season while compiling 8
rushing TD's, is a duel-threat playmaker
who can change a game really quickly.
Also, will have WR Drymalla and WR Jacob
White. RB/DB Rekieta provides senior
leadership along with OL/DL Yezak, an
all-district performer. Definsively, DE
Drymalla, who had 96 tackles, DL Hall
and LB Kinney lead the way. Bruce
Briganc from Mart takes over for long
time had coach Jerry "Slugger" Hamrick,
who retired after 13 seasons of leading
a successful Bremond program. Brignac,
was the defensive coordinator at Mart.
White is a three-year letterman , and
had 1,000 yards passing and 800 rushing
yards last season.

Chilton Pirates
Head Coach: Robert Little
2009 Record: 8-3/ 4-1 District (Loss to
Falls City in Regional Semifinals)
Key Players: RB Eric Bradley, OL Adam
Rodriguez, RB Cedric Carter, LB Ben
Chavez, DL Shurdon Simpson, RB Deunte
Horne,WR Jack Winkles
Summary: With just 7 starters returning
on both sides of the ball Chilton will
be somewhat of an underdog in this
district, but as always Coach Little
will find a way to compete for a title
with one of the most consistent 1A
programs in the state. RB Bradley, a
member of Chilton's state-qualifying
sprint relay team, should emerge as the
featured back. Running Back Cedric
Carter could be a really good player but
he just has to believe in his skills,
Little said. WR Winkles has great hands
and can help move the chains. Little
said that Rodriguez anchors the
offensive line and is very strong and
mobile. He plays left guard and also
nose guard. LB Chavez has improved his
quickness after making 80 tackles last
season.

Wortham Bulldogs
Head Coach: Jerry Young
2009 Record: 5-5
Key Players: OLB Brandon Lansford, LB
Hance Spencer, FS Chris McDaniel, QB
Cooper Warren, OL Ty Williams, LB Chris
Perez, OL Donovan Freeman
Summary: Wortham was "ever so-close"
from a trip to the playoffs last year,
but a big loss to Hubbard in Week 10
ended their chances. But, the Bulldogs
will be " loaded" on defense, especially
against the run. with four starting
Linebacker's back, led by LB Spencer,
who had 73 tackles last season. FS
McDaniel, who had 4 interceptions last
season, leades the secondary. Warren
will take over the offense after the
graduation of leading rusher Jake Jones.
Wortham is built to win in the trenches
in a sort of tribute to former Bulldog
and current Dallas Cowboy offensive
lineman Leonard Davis. Offensive lineman
Ty Williams and Donovan Freeman, both
around 230 pounds aren't as big as
Davis, but they are solid football
players. Expect Wortham to be "right in
the mix" in terms of playoff
consideration.

Hubbard Jaguars
Head Coach: Joe Heckathorn
2009 Record: 3-7/3-3 District
Key Players: OT/DT Shawn McKinney, OL/DE
Roderick Williams, QB Cole Hill, WR
Donam Johnson, C Dae'Voddrick Williams,
WR/CB Bradley Walker, DB John Jones, TE
Mika Fletcher
Summary: The Jaguars lost speedster QB
Lance McClain, but still return lots of
key players from last years team. OT/DT
McKinney "has the size and feet to be a
DI player", says Coach Heckathorn. Both
lines will also have two behemoths in OL/DE
Williams and C Williams. Heckathorn
expects QB Hill "to get the ball to our
playmakers." That includes WR/CB Walker
and TE Fletcher. The Jags have tons of
size which should help with being in a
competitve distirct. After a primarily
run-orriented offense last season, Hill
will add a passing element to the Jags'
attack.

Head Coach: Clark Moore
2009 Record: 3-7/0-6 District
Key Players: LB Philip Page, RB Danial
Steels, OL Gary Woods, DE David Rios, DB
Jesse Vickery, C Mark Jackson
Summary: The Polar Bears will look to RB
Steels to lead them on offense. While on
defense Frost will be lead by Philip
Page who was a big-time game changer
last season for the Polar Bears,
recorded 100 tackles. OL Woods and DE
Rios are key two-way starters. After
ending a 21-game losing streak that
dated back to October 2006, the Polar
Bears are eager to get back to the
field. Steels had 889 yards and 6
touchdowns on 157 carries last season.
TE/LB Page had 13 receptions for 250
